About

We all need different things at different times.

Establishing a relationship with a counsellor, or meditation teacher, who you can resonate with in this moment is something that can take a lot of consideration. Research has shown that the therapeutic relationship is a highly important element in the process of change that occurs during the counselling process. Below are some perspectives about Maggie to consider before you make your decision.

Maggie’s personal philosophy lies in meeting one’s self where one is in the present moment. Bringing awareness to our inner world helps us craft a wisdom that we can contact in our daily life, allowing us to navigate our circumstances and create a happy life.

Maggie’s belief is that we all have the potential to self-actualise (grow into the best version of ourselves). She uses a person-centred approach to counselling and her meditation groups always allow space for the shared wisdom of the group to emerge. As Carl Rogers (the father of person-centred therapy) puts it “our self is good enough, if we would only be it openly” and “the curious paradox is; if we accept our self just as we are, then we can change”.

Maggie’s own trials and tribulations, including breast cancer, disability, partnership breakup and the deaths of friends, family and loved ones allow her a deep compassion and insight into what it is to be human. Her practice in meditation and commitment to personal growth feeds her conviction that as humans we can move beyond our woes and make the most of this beautiful miracle we call life.
